Viola Eye-Opener

Interesting. Posted by Hello

I was spring cleaning at the office today and came across this piece of contemporary music that was at some semi-final level of a composition competition. We had the music for about a week, and ran through the piece as a group one time. Later on in the piece we had col legno semiquavers, with a crescendo too.

In another piece, dynamics were determined by the players’ imagining the balance of the moon and the sun. And in yet another, the final direction was to stay still for one minute. The winner of the competition was the most regular of the selections, and didn’t have any of these more flavored notations.

Sneexe, interesting title - if it were possible to play some of that stuff. :P

Seong Hong, sure I remember! I found it particularly interesting that a couple of days after mentioning a track in Oliver! you linked up. Good times, dude.

Well, since you're no longer Oliver, at least you're no longer a Boy, Boy For Sale, Going Cheap, heh heh. :O I'm on MSN, Yahoo and Skype, if you'd like to link up, message me on Friendster, yeah. What a tangled WorldWideWeb we weave. Please sir, can I have some more?
