Alas, poor Yorrick!

Progress! Sneexe and I have started a new blog, to start writing a play. Excellent!

Changing the subject, it’s been a day of thinking about my career and where I want it to go. The good news is that for most of the things I realistically aim for, I’m somewhere on the path – a marked improvement since my life up to now seems to be like the title of a previous post: a series of unconnected events. The bad news is that the things I would really like depend a lot on external factors: a public more supportive of chamber music and plays, a larger number of students who care more for just the music than exams or whatever other lofty purpose. We must all do our best; the rest will be as it will be, I suppose.

On another note, I’m getting an odd feeling that I’m blaming Jim Carrey for overacting (wait, since that’s intentional, then over-overacting) in A Series of Unfortunate Events more than usual, because for the first time Jim plays a bad guy with no redeeming qualities. Something about all that humor – bad and good, mind you – without some sort of good intent is spooky.

My career may be in a consistent direction, but if this blog is any indication, anyone trying to catch my train of thought may find themselves at three different stations.

your train-of-thought/station analogy is just beautiful. shows you that your brain has quantum mechanical properties (i.e. the position is blurry). wait, quantum effects only become apparent on VERY small scales... :P
